These pages are provided for those who wish to participate in the Philosophy Interest Group (PIG) during the annual SPS conference.
My name is Doug Olena. I have taken on the task of managing the Philosophy Interest Group from Jack Wisemore. I teach at Evangel University as adjunct professor of philosophy.
I am providing this web space to make it easier for you to submit proposals and have access to the things that the PIG will be doing.
Among the changes I am making to our activities will be to request that one or more of the people submitting proposals be willing to submit papers that will be on standby in case one or more of the presenters unavoidably fails to show up. This will provide a full docket during the conference. As well, I would like to enlist your help to preview the proposals for papers to get a consensus of what you think would play well to our prospective audience. Of course I will retain the right to make the final decision, but as you will find out, there are things I don't know that you do. My decision will be informed largely by your opinions. Please, also, if there is a preferred time slot (general time of day Thurs, Fri, Sat) you would like to give your paper, please let me know.
I will be making extensive use of an email list to keep in contact and make announcements. If the email address I have for you is outdated or unused, or you think there is someone who should be on the list who isn't, then please submit the address to the list. They will subsequently be asked if they wish to subscribe by the list, to which they can assent or not.
Because there are so many new books and interesting topics to study, I would like you to tell me what you are reading at the moment with some comments. If you wish, you could also give me a list of books that have changed your way of thinking. See mine.
